On this day in 1989 the finance and markets network CNBC began it’s life on air. To mark the anniversary the Network posed the question, “If you had bought 1,000 shares of Apple on the day that CNBC first aired in 1989, how much money would you have today?”….(Drumroll)….
The Answer: Roughly $604,000, or a 6,000% return (would have cost you about $10,000 to invest in 1,000 shares of Apple back then).
Thats a lot of money.
